What information we collect
We only collect what you give us when you ask us for a quote or a repair, and basic technical information collected automatically when you visit the site.
When you use our Contact or Repairs & Modifications forms
- Your name and, if you give it, your company name
- Your phone number and email address
- Vehicle or chassis details (make, model and year)
- The body type you need, and the type of work (new build, repair or modification)
- For repair enquiries: how urgent the job is
- A description of the job in your own words
- Photos of your vehicle, if you choose to attach any (optional, up to 5 photos)
- Your preferred way for us to contact you back (phone or email)
Automatically
Our web server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and troubleshooting, the way most websites do. We don't use advertising cookies. If we use tools to understand how visitors use our site, we'll update this policy to explain them.
The map on our site is provided by Google Maps. When it loads, Google may collect information in line with its own privacy policy — this happens on Google's side, not ours.
Why we collect it
We only use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and carry out the work you've asked us to do. We won't send you marketing unless you've agreed to receive it, and we don't profile or make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing. We only share it with service providers who help us run our website and email, and only to the extent needed for them to provide that service.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as the law requires, after which it is securely deleted.
How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections on our website, and we limit access to the people at VEBODY who need it.
Your rights under POPIA
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to:
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy of it
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need or have no right to keep
- Object to how we process your information
- Complain to the Information Regulator if you believe we haven't handled your information properly
